COMMISSIONING OF STEPHEN MINISTERS
On Sunday, November 4, 2007 at the
10:30 AM service five new Stephen Ministers
were commissioned for service in the
Parish. They are:
- Kathryn Eshelman
- Shirley Kinney
- Gladys Knauss
- Larry Lehman
- Mary Schultz
Our five candidates have completed 50 hours of training with Pastor Elkin and Jane Larson, Stephen Leaders. They have received training in a variety of areas designed to increase their Christian caring skills. They will begin their ministries of caring within our congregation and community. Stephen Ministers offer love and support to those experiencing such life stressors as depression, grief, loneliness, the loss of a job, and many other life crises where a caring relationship might be of benefit.
As these members of our congregation begin their caring ministries among us, let us remember to support them with our prayers so they may be enabled to carry out their ministries to the fullest degree.
