1. “Scattered, Battered ... Forlorn”
Well a farmer was scattering seeds in his field, they flew with a whispering sound:
They wanted to grow to be healthy and strong, but some fell on hard packed ground.
Landing, bouncing and rolling, landing, bouncing and rolling they stopped on the path, what a terrible place to fall.
At the edge of the path where every one walked, how could they ever grow tall, they wanted to grow to be healthy and strong, what a terrible place they did fall.
Then the birds flew in, settled down to eat, and the seeds began to cry, “O dear earth, let us in, oh please let us in, if we stay up here we will die, we will die, we will die.
2. "The Goonies”
The morning air was speckled with seeds that flew with a sound, a whispering sound, the soil was warm, thin layer of earth, that covered the hard stony ground, the hard stony ground.
The roots underground ran out to get food, but ran into rocks, below shallow earth; they wiggled and pushed, to get by the rocks, but the rocks didn’t care about them young plants.
(Spoken) Dem plants died! Yeah!
4. “Goodness Grows”
Well a farmer walked on having scattered his seeds, they grew as well as they could, and some of the seeds grew strong and tall cause for some the ground was good.
Landing, bouncing and rolling, landing, bouncing and rolling, they found good ground.
Mmmmm, was it good!
Inch, by inch, by inch, by inch, now slowly, slowly they stretched toward the sky, sent deep roots that never got tired of gathering food and strength, sent deep roots that never got tired of gathering food and strength.
Golden heads that grew, all the good seeds knew each had a hundred, (spoken) whew!
Golden heads that grew all the good seeds knew one had a hundred and two!
(Spoken) That’s right!
(Sung) One had a hundred and two!
5. “God’s Word Is Heard”
God’s word is like the seeds in the field, it goes everywhere to be heard, but it grows in people, not in the ground, if their ears will just hear His word.
Landing, bouncing and rolling, landing, bouncing and rolling, it grows, it grows, it grows!
