Each winter, Pastor Elkin has hosted a dinner in honor of one of the groups in St. Mark’s as a thank-you for continuing to serve our church together. This year the Pastor selected the Acolytes as the ones to be honored.
Sunday after Sunday throughout the year, three or more persons take care of practical tasks such as lighting candles, leading processions, receiving the offering, and gathering communion glasses. They also stand ready to assist the pastor by fetching something that was forgotten or solving a small problem during the service. Thanks are indeed appropriate for our diligent corps of acolytes!
The acolytes, and their families, gathered on Sunday, January 29 at 5:00 P.M. in Fellowship Hall for a formal dinner. Acolytes who were preparing for their first service and those who have served for many years attended the event. We appreciate them all!
