In 2005-06, St. Mark's entered two teams in John H. Bower Sunday School Basketball League competition. Both teams were known as the "St. Mark’s Lions." These young members of our congregation finished their season with the Pee Wee team at 3-4, the Beginners at 1-5-2.
The Pee Wee team members were Stephen Boone, Christina Comini, Jarrett Eyer, Brandon Fortin, Paige Fortin, Sara Jones, Devin Owen, and Hannah Ramsauer. Participating on the Beginner Pee Wee team were Morgan Comini, Kara Hershey, Theoron Hershey, Alex Lehman, Dawson Owen, Dustin Pelleschi, Cody Shimp, and Bryce Young. The teams were coached by Rick Robertson, Kirk Owen and Jeff Hershey.
The John H. Bower Sunday School Basketball League is a non-denominational church league for kids age 6 to 18. The season runs from November through February. Team membership requires active Sunday school attendance.
When you see them or their coaches, please congratulate them on their dedication and good sportsmanship. These kids and their leaders an awesome job and were a joy to watch.
