Advent Wreaths

Advent is the period preceding the Christmas season. It began on the Sunday December 3 in 2006, the Sunday nearest the feast day of St. Andrew the Apostle, and extended for the next four Sundays.

On the first Sunday of Advent, the families of St. Mark's came together for Advent wreath building, food and fellowship. Twenty-six people (nine families) attended this Advent celebration. We all sat down to lunch after the 10:30 service. The making of the wreaths followed. During and after the wreath-making, the children decorated their tree with the hand-made wooden ornaments given to them last year.
