In 1990, a Super Bowl Sunday prayer inspired a group of people to do something more than celebrate a football game. They created the Souper Bowl of Caring, and have mobilized others across the country to raise more than $100 million for people in need since its inception.
On February 9, 2025, St. Mark’s once again joined churches all across the country in the Souper Bowl of Caring collecting money and food for the hungry and homeless in our community. Our donations of non-perishable food items were given to the United Churches Food Pantry to help stock their shelves.
Thank you to everyone who participated in the 2025 Souper Bowl of Caring! This year our congregation’s “can prediction” for a Philadelphia Eagles win was accurate. Dare I say we even predicted the blowout win with our can totals of KC ~ 14, Eagles ~ 95. Congrats, Eagles fans!
More importantly though, the United Churches Food Pantry came up with a big win! Thanks to your generous donations,109 cans of food will be delivered to the food pantry to be used in their outreach ministries. In addition, $177.00 was collected, and this will be used to support several local ministries including the United Churches Food Pantry and Sojourner Truth Ministries.
