Passing on Faith:
Anniversary Milestone 2015
On Sunday, May 17, 2015, St. Mark’s Lutheran Church celebrated the couples in our congregation who have been married for between 50 and 53 years with a Wedding Anniversary Milestone.
The couples were recognized during the 10:30 service. After the service, dinner was served for the couples and their visiting family members, with help from some of the youth of St. Mark’s.
The Milestone was remembered in the gathered congregation with a hand-crafted tree certificate bearing the names of the couples. It will be remembered at home with a smaller version of the tree certificate, personalized for each couple. It will also be remembered in the community with a planter located near the east door.
The following couples were honored:
Philip and Barbara Thomas - 50 years
Gary and Donna Clark - 50 years
Barbara and Donald Switzer - 51 years
Hugh and Marie Byerly - 51 years
Graydon and Patricia Yearick - 53 years
The couples were sent from the nave with this blessing: "May you continue to dwell in God's presence forever; may true and constant love preserve you."
