On Christ the King Sunday, November 24, Emma and Liam Elkin, after three weeks of study, received the sacrament of Holy Communion at the 10:30 service. They received communion with their families, and then were recognized at the end of the service, and given a certificate.
Pastor Elkin took particular interest in this milestone event as Emma and Liam are his grandchildren.
At the same service, the Passing on Faith Bible Milestone was celebrated by the two children who had just taken their first communion.
The children greeted the congregation after the service.
They and their families joined in the luncheon immediately following the service. At that time, Pastor Elkin sat down with the children to explore their Bibles and see what messages relatives and friends had written or favorite passages they had highlighted in the Books.
