The Women of St. Mark’s thank the congregation for their many, many donations and assistance with the annual bazaar.
A special thank you is extended to Deb Holmes for once again bringing freshmen students from Lycoming College to assist in bringing all the tables and the many items from the basement to Fellowship Hall. The students’ energy seemed boundless.
Then in the days preceding the sale, several women worked each morning to organize the tables in preparation for the big day. We were blessed to have many new women assist with the preparations.
The kitchen, under the direction of Shirley and Jackie Kinney, saw many hungry customers in addition to our own folks.
On the day of the bazaar the rain did not deter those looking for bargains. Fellowship Hall remained busy throughout the day with steady sales.
At the conclusion of the sale, it was inspiring to see several of our young families assisting with the clean-up. They included the Owen, Jensen, Haussmann, and Comerford families aided by Pastor, Lou and Linda DeSeau, Shirley Hill, Shirley Vognet, Roxie Larson and Bunny Ditchfield and Becky Pryor. A special thanks is also given to Carol Johnson, Redeemer Lutheran Church, for her invaluable assistance throughout the day. Both Lou and Carol delivered furniture to individuals.
Items not sold at our sale were donated to the West End Community Center, Shepherd of the Streets, Daniel’s Closet, Newberry Branch of NGA (Needlework Guild of America), Relay for Life/Lancers Against Cancers, Operation Christmas Child, Toys for Tots, the Friends of the JV Brown Library and the American Rescue Workers. T
his sale raised more than $1,200.00. These funds will be used by the Women of St. Mark’s to support charities both locally and globally.
