Fishing at the Doebler Farm
The fish were biting at the Doebler pond when St. Mark's sponsored a fishing derby on May 19. Over 100 fish were caught by the kids in several hours on that afternoon.
Everyone caught at least 1 fish.
Some of the seasoned fishermen were catching fish the second the line
hit the water.
The biggest fish was 13 inches long. That guy was a bit unlucky as he was caught no less than 3 times by 3 different kids.
Two families of geese watched the events with distain - if you got too close, daddy goose let out a few fierce honks.
Tasty treats were prepared over an open fire. Some of the contestants were too excited about the fishing to stop for food.
The casting contest ended the day. In the last cast of the day. little Levi hit the mark. Amazing!
In all, a very enjoyable day.
