For some it was the conclusion of their catechetical studies - others are looking forward to another year - but for all it was an intense 3 day effort.
Confirmation Camp took place over August 5-7, combining Christian education with field trips to local social agencies and with study of St. Mark's facilities and history.
Topics ranged from the creeds (memorization of the Apostle's Creed was required) to the geography of the Holy Land. Also, the students committed to memory the 10 Commandments and the Lord's Prayer.
On Monday, the students and Pastor Elkin visited St. Anthony's Center, viewing the food pantry and the clinic. Later in the week, a field trip was taken to the American Rescue Workers facility in Williamsport.
It wasn't all work - memory games were a part of the learning process.
The 3 days of effort concluded with a fun pool picnic at Pastor Elkin's house.
Now, the catechetical students who have concluded their studies look forward to their confirmation on September 8.
