In large sections of the world, folks are lacking food and warmth. On two recent October Sundays, St. Mark's took on both problems.
On blanket Sunday, the Quilting Group displayed their work for the year. Nearly 120 quilts were sewn by a very industrious group of ladies. Every pew was draped with several of the beautiful comforters.
The quilts will be sent over-seas to needy people, by Lutheran World Relief.
The following Sunday, Harvest Home was celebrated. In times past the congregation would have cheered the year's harvest, but now we collect food to give thanks to God for all our blessings. Food was also collected as the special offering in Children's Church.
All of the collected food will be distributed through the local food pantry to needy local families.
