The Women of St. Mark’s thank the congregation for their many donations and assistance with the annual bazaar. Lou DeSeau and Tim Maggs did yeoman’s work in setting up Fellowship Hall. Special thanks is extended to Sharon Comini and Deb Holmes for bringing students from Penn College and Lycoming College respectively to assist in bringing all the items from the basement to Fellowship Hall. The students’ energy seemed boundless.
Then in the days preceding the sale, several women worked each morning to organize the tables in preparation for the big day. And a big day it was. The kitchen, under the direction of Shirley Kinney, saw many hungry customers in addition to our own folks. Fellowship Hall remained busy throughout the day with steady sales.
At the conclusion of the sale, Lou and Linda DeSeau, Ralph and LouAnn Zeigler, and the Owen family were invaluable in storing the tables and assisting with boxing items to be distributed in support of other charitable work.
Items were donated to the West End Community Center, Shepherd of the Streets, Newberry Branch of NGA, Relay for Life/Lancers Against Cancers, First Church of Christ (Disciples) and the American Rescue Workers.
We raised more than $1,200.00. These funds will be used by the Women of St. Mark’s to support charities both locally and globally.
