Pouring and Painting the Paschal Candle. The lighting of the Paschal candle at the Easter Vigil on the Saturday evening before Easter is one of the most solemn moments of the service. A new Paschal candle is blessed and lit every year at Easter, and is used throughout the Easter season.
Pouring the candle is a difficult and messy job. When the work was done, especially after retired art teacher Bob Schultz applied his special artistic touches, the candle became a beautiful symbol of the light of Christ.
Making Easter (empty tomb) Cookies. During Easter morning Sunday School, the kids celebrated the special day in the kitchen. Baking Easter Cookies, to welcome the risen Christ. Lots of fun - and good eats too!
