Celebrating Sunday of Christ the King

First Communion - Third Grader Bible Milestone

First Communion was received on Sunday of Christ the King, November 21, by Gillian Buckman, Hannah Haussmann, Derek Lewis, Sadie & Taylor Wentzel and Madisyne & Bianca Wellen. They took this step after three Sunday sessions of instruction with Pastor Elkin and Bernadette Jones, where they learned that there is, indeed, a place for them at the Lord’s table. After the service they and their families enjoyed a lunch in Fellowship Hall.

At the same service, the Passing on Faith Bible Milestone was celebrated by third graders, some of whom had just taken their first communion. Gillian Buckman, Hannah Haussmann, Derek Lewis and Dylan Ott received their Bibles. They and their families joined in the luncheon immediately following the service.

At that time, Pastor Elkin sat down with the children to explore their Bibles and see what messages relatives and friends had written or favorite passages they had highlighted in the Books.
