Eighteen middle-high school aged youth joined us for the Williamsport Christmas parade, and then stayed the night at the Church. Pastor, Kirk and Bernadette were the intrepid (read slightly nuts) adults supervising the activities. Sharon joined in on Saturday morning as the kids updated their mural on the middle school classroom wall (go up and take a look when you have the chance).
We played trivia games, watched and discussed movies, ate, and (briefly) slept. The highlight of the event was the midnight scavenger hunt, during which five teams were sent in different directions, following clues and searching for different highlights of St. Mark’s.
On Saturday, the kids painted the set for the performance of A Christmas Carol as their service project and their classroom mural. We enjoyed another movie and pizza, then were ready to be picked up at 2:00 pm. In short, a good time was had by all (even those sleep deprived adults)!
