Who is St. Mark? What is the central theme? How does Mark treat Peter? Who is Jesus' family? These questions and many more are addressed in a series of YouTube videos recently filmed by Pastor Kenneth Elkin.
In the twenty-eight short pieces, Pastor Elkin talks about how little is known about the man who chronicled the life of Jesus, and about the important, yet still imperfect figures whose lives are touched by Christ in the Gospel.
This group of video "shorts" is expected to be the beginning of a series of discussions on the books of the Bible, that will be posted over the next several months.
"What we're attempting to do is to get the good news of the Lord Jesus out in a way that has not yet been done - in a way that will reach people who have not yet been reached - and will also excite those who have heard the story," explained Pastor Elkin. "Because, as the old hymn says, 'I love to tell the story' even though I have heard it so many times before. So for all of those reasons, for a new generation, let's say the story."
Last year, Pastor Elkin posted a series of more personal talks on YouTube. The current series will be more focused on interpreting and understanding the Bible.
