St. Mark's was pleased to welcome The Rev. Karl-John Stone for a Sunday morning visit on September 14, 2008. Rev. Stone serves, with his wife, The Rev. Beth Ann L. Stone, as Assistant to the Bishop of the Upper Susquehanna Synod, ELCA.
Pastor Stone preached at both services, speaking on the Holy Cross of Christ and its service as a connection between heaven and earth. Between services, Pastor Stone answered questions at a forum in the Crossways Room. He commented on many topics of interest to the congregation, including some of the challenges faced by the member churches of the synod, the importance of outreach to the community and changes being undertaken by the Bishop in synod governance.
