August is choir camp time, and 2008's campers worked hard to present two rousing performances of "David and the Giants." In this cantata, the ancient story of David and his fight with the giant Goliath was brought home to the contemporary scene with the challenge to fight today's giants of the Fee-fi-fo-fum Army, which represented poverty, greed, corruption, waste and "this space available."
On Saturday, the "dinner and a show" performance was preceded by a well attended hamburger barbeque pot-luck dinner in fellowship hall. Then on Sunday, the performance was incorporated into the regular service. The kids (of all ages) had a great time. The highlight - they all got to keep their shields and kazoos!
